Job Description

Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out teaching and research in HRM or a related field in work and employment? Do you have an excellent research record and a potential to establish an international reputation? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University?

We are looking for outstanding candidates to join the Work and Employment Relations Department (WERD) of Leeds University Business School. One of the largest concentrations of specialists in the field in the UK, WERD has a vibrant research culture.

As Lecturer, you will undertake research, teaching and management within the Department, contributing to academic leadership in HRM. You will have a proven track record of research and specialist expertise in one or more of the following areas:

You will contribute to the research agenda of the Centre of Employment Relations Innovation and Change (CERIC) in these areas. In addition to candidates whose research interests align with the CERIC agenda (social inequalities, digital futures of work, and voice and representation), we are looking to strengthen the core HRM team with expertise in international/comparative research and quantitative HR analytics.

You will play a leading role in delivering programmes such as the CIPD accredited MA in Human Resource Management, run by the Work and Employment Relations Department (WERD).

You will also be an engaging and effective teacher, able to contribute modules in areas such as labour law and labour relations, HR data analytics and quantitative HRM, and broader strategic HRM.

We welcome applications from candidates with interests in areas which fit with the Department’s research, who have experience of teaching in core areas of human resource management and can contribute to ongoing curriculum renewal.
