Description: Do you like creating yummy food for people to enjoy? We are looking for a Senior Cook for one of our popular eating spots. In this role, you will be planning and preparing menus in a large production kitchen. 

Duties: 

  • Menu Development. Plans, develops, and assesses costs for menus. Prepares new recipes/entrees, salads and other
    menu items.
  • Inventory Management. Ability to take physical inventory monthly, order produce and other food items on a daily basis.
  • Supervision. May provide supervision and training to other food service staff.
  • Skill Development. Participates in ongoing skill development courses in order to stay abreast of the latest trends in the
    food service industry.
  • Food Preparation. May prepare specialty foods, such as pizzas, fish and chips, sandwiches, or tacos, following specific
    methods that usually require short preparation time.
  • Sanitation. Cleans and maintains food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
  • As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

 

Job Requirements

Required Education: High School diploma, GED, or graduate of a culinary school

Certifications/ Licenses: Possession of a valid Food Handlers Certificate/License or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
and a valid Oklahoma Driver's License

Skills:

  • Able to understand & convert measurements
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment & supplies
  • Able to plan a health conscience menu
  • Ability to interpret information
  • Work on multiple projects at one time
  • Must have good coordination
  • Must be able to lift 15 – 75 lbs
  • Must be able to conduct food preparation duties while being exposed to cleaning chemicals/fumes

Preferred Skills/ Experience:

  • 36 months food service experience.
  • Familiarity with preparation of gourmet type menu items
  • Some experience in menu planning and costing
  • Experience in complete kitchen management, ethnic cooking (including baking), salad preparation, entrée selection, and
    pairing
  • Should have the ability to understand profit and loss statement
