CPM is a department within the College of Continuing Education at the University of Oklahoma. We provide public sector agencies, staff, service providers, clients and community partners training, research and consultant support for professional and programmatic development. We deliver cost-effective, customer-oriented solutions that are tailored to meet unique needs and situations.

The Program Manager for the Employer Education Services Center (EESC) will provide services to publicly funded clients of the Center for Public Management. Duties include but are not limited to

  • Responsible for managing, coordinating and administering all activities within the EESC 
  • Directly supervises assigned staff with responsibility for all program areas 
  • Oversees EESC marketing and outreach activities 
  • Manages human resource functions including personnel records and payroll/leave reporting 
  • Prepares budgets, controls expenditures and allocates appropriations to manage assigned budget and contracts
  • Is primary EESC representative and liaison with state agency client, the University and the public 
  • Ensures compliance with relevant federal and state regulations 
  • Evaluates program effectiveness and quality of services 
  • Develops controls to assure accountability for program operation, policy implementation and efficiency 
  • Conducts presentations about program activities to diverse audiences.

The EESC Manager must be able to foster innovation, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, solve problems creatively, demonstrate high integrity and establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external customers.

This position may be eligible for remote or hybrid work.

 

 

Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's degree, AND:

  • 48 months of program development, program management or related experience

Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.

Skills:

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations
  • Able to effectively evaluate projects;programs and produce comprehensive reports
  • Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

Certifications:

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions
  • Standard Office Environment. 
  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
  • May be required to travel.
  • May require contact with other departments and university officials.
