The BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) has an exciting opportunity for an innovative, collaborative, and service-oriented individual to join our growing administrative support team as MPA - Research!

The incumbent will provide research programmatic support for our growing research enterprise as well as be the primary administrative support for Dr. Andrea Gilmore-Bykovskyi, who leads a dynamic, collaborative health services and clinical dementia research lab. Dr. Gilmore-Bykovskyi's research lab is home to several research initiatives and outreach activities that focus on expanding effective, equitable, and meaningful care for people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and their caregivers. Her research advances this goal through studying: 1) patient and caregiver-centered outcomes with a focus on management of non-cognitive symptoms, 2) care delivery and utilization disparities surrounding care transitions and hospitalization, and 3) inclusion of underrepresented populations in research.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs administrative duties to support providers, staff, services, and unit programs. May serve as the primary contact or customer service representative and subject matter expert. Tracks, prioritizes, organizes, and completes multiple ongoing clinical, research or academic projects. Requires Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) knowledge or training.
15% Performs administrative tasks including telephone customer service, word processing, transcribing, filing, and calendaring
10% Acts as the primary liaison for providers or programs and refers stakeholders to providers, agencies, patients, and staff
20% Assists in coordinating the complex daily activities of providers or program(s) by entering information into databases, maintaining files and materials, and preparing reports
10% Serves as the primary contact and subject matter expert for specified program policies and procedures
5% Identifies opportunities for program improvements and makes recommendations to the appropriate entities
25% Schedules logistics and secures or distributes resources for program meetings, department events, conferences, and travel
10% Assist with all aspects of Program internal and external communications
5% Assist with scientific reference bibliographic searches and dissemination of academic output, including scientific manuscripts and presentations

H.S. Diploma

-Previous administrative work experience in an academic, medical, research or office setting
-Experience using Microsoft Outlook Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
-Experience conducting literature reviews
