Job Description


The Tsai Lab is seeking to hire a part-time Research Technician II to assist with maintaining our lab computers and assist with particle picking and image reconstruction from large datasets. No prior experience is required but a working knowledge of Linux/Unix is an advantage. Enthusiasm for research, a willingness to learn, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Job Duties

  • Analyzes and processes data in an accurate and detailed manner.
  • Maintains lab computers and general lab area in accordance with established procedures.
  • Complies with established safety procedures and maintain required documentation.
  • Assists other lab members with their computational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Linux/Unix or system administration
  • Highly self-motivated, able to follow directions and established protocols, and strong organizational and record keeping skills.
