Title- Senior IT Project Manager (level III)
Team- IT Projects and Solutions Team

Role Purpose-

This position manages IT project portfolios, individual projects, and serves as the application administrator for the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) System. Manages timeline, budget, resources, and scope of large scale independent projects. Submits project billing and reconciles accounts. Participates in the development of policies, procedures, standards and controls. This position is within the OU IT Projects & Solutions team which is tasked with providing project management of technology-related projects, primarily at the enterprise level and across all campuses. Additionally, this position has a role in the management and administration of project and portfolio management (PPM) applications and processes.

 Are you a highly motivated individual that thrives in a fast paced, high performing, dynamic team environment? In this position within the OU IT Projects & Solutions team, you will work independently with people across IT and the University to assess, plan, and execute projects. 

Utilizing your knowledge of project management principles and practices and your skills at analyzing, organizing, and communicating, you will lead multi-functional teams to assess requirements, identify and recommend solutions, plan implementations, coordinate communications and reporting, manage project budgets, identify and manage project risks and issues while ensuring project sponsors are engaged and informed.

In addition to managing projects, your knowledge and experience will provide important contributions to the development and support of project and portfolio management practices and tools for OU IT.

Duties-

  • Leads the development and rollout of project management methodology.
  • Defines and obtains resources that enable the project teams to perform optimally.
  • Manages the day-to-day responsibilities of assigned projects 
  • Develops and refines performance improvement methodology and project management methodology.
  • Ensures the department has the infrastructure and resources required to perform its role effectively and efficiently.·
  • Monitors timelines to ensure resources are available and applied appropriately to achieve desired performance goals in a timely manner.·
  • Provides best practice examples from other organizations or industries. ·
  • Provides active tracking tools and risk management summaries for all projects designated by senior management and summarizes individual projects progress and risks to senior management.·
  • Maintains effective internal and external communication regarding process innovation and project management efforts while providing timely information regarding the progress of initiatives.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of communication plans.·
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Job Requirements

Required education: Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field, AND: 

  • 72 months of project management experience which includes 36 months management or leadership experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 120 months of related experience.
