Job DescriptionGENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Associate CIO Enterprise Systems (ES), the Manager, Institutional Reporting & Data Governance performs a variety of duties related to the collection, reporting, and analysis of institutional and benchmarking data to support university planning and decision-making. The position assists the university in formulating and achieving its strategic goals via the Technology Strategic Plan, and fulfilling university, state, federal and other reporting requirements.
The position will lead the transformation of Illinois Institute of Technology from being an application-centric to a data-centric university. The Manager’s responsibilities include the establishment of a data governance program at Illinois Tech, working closely with ES peers to select and build IIT’s data lake and develop predictive analytic solutions to improve selected university KPI’s.
Special Schedule Requirements
This is a full-time position. Normal university business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional work will be scheduled on Thursday morning and Friday night/Saturday morning during the university’s maintenance window (https://ots.iit.edu/about/maintenance-window) and may be required for incident response.

Education & Experience
BA/BS required in social science, education, business, statistics, or other field requiring quantitative research methods (advanced degree preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of three years’ experience working in an academic environment, including two years’ experience working in institutional research or similar area. Previous supervisory experience a plus.
Knowledge & Skills
Advanced skills in MS Office software (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio) in an MS Windows environment.
Ability to design and create reports to summarize aggregate data that are visually attractive and easy to understand.
Demonstrated ability to appropriately use descriptive and analytic statistics.
Willingness/ability to learn new software.
Excellent written, verbal, influencing, and presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage concurrent projects, and meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive or personal information.
