The SD Board of Regents Information Systems is seeking a self-starter to develop and support technology based software solutions, with a focus on administrative systems including HR, Finance, Student Information, Financial Aid and related systems, to ensure the efficient operation, integration, and delivery of services for the BOR public University system.

Responsibilities include being a primary resource to create and implement new technology based software solutions; application software system support; implementation and support of interoperability tools and technologies; and to address integration requirements between the BOR systems.

Position Requirements:
Java Object Oriented Programming
Web Services API experience, including development of and interacting with.
Related software development education and work experience.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in information systems preferred, other combinations of experience and education may be acceptable by the hiring authority.
Must be a highly motivated individual, with a passion to learn and ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of clients and be team oriented.
Ability to lead support a project through to completion and build consensus across state agencies.
A working knowledge of SQL or PL/SQL
Ability to easily adapt to a changing technological landscape.
Experience building integrations between disparate systems, both on-prem and cloud based.

Preferred Skills:
iPaaS experience
Oracle PL/SQL, developing and modifying PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions.
Installation, configuration, and administration of commercial/vendor application systems.
Experience with administration of MS iiS and ASP .NET applications.
Creating and modifying Linux shell scripts.
Maintaining systems in an Oracle environment
Working in a windows and Unix/Linux server environment.
Administration of Apache/Tomcat.
Knowledge of software systems used in support business processes and services within.
Higher Education System a plus.

Applicants with proven project leadership experience, 5 or more years of related work experience, and who have the ability to provide guidance and expertise on all aspects of the software development life cycle will be considered at the Senior Software Engineer classification.
