Job Description
Summary
Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an Insurance Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately obtaining benefits from insurance companies for upcoming services, provides accurate estimate for patient out of pocket expenses, submits and follows up on insurance authorization requests, and financially clears the patient for upcoming services.
Job Duties
- Obtains benefits.
- Creates estimates for patient out of pocket.
- Submits authorizations for services, follows up on submitted authorizations, and notates authorization in appropriate area in Epic.
- Contacts patient's to collect out of pocket expenses.
- Contacts departments regarding missing clinical information if required by insurance company.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant experience.
