Job Description

The successful candidate will perform basic and applied research and development including materials synthesis, physical characterizations, performance evaluations, and processing of materials. We are looking for a motivated, recently graduated candidate with expertise in active battery material synthesis and characterization.

Position Requirements

  • This level of knowledge is achieved through formal education in chemistry, materials science or a related field at the Ph.D. degree level with 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent in the scientific application of this knowledge and practical laboratory experience.

  • Experience in the synthesis of new cathode and cathode precursors using solid state, co-precipitation, hydrothermal and surface modification.

  • Experience in conduct cathode (including cathode precursor) design and synthesis experiments.

  • Experience characterizing the synthesized cathode materials.

  • Ability to evaluate the electrochemical performance of the synthesized cathode material.

  • Ability to investigate innovative and promising new materials.

  • Demonstrated expertise in material chemistry and synthesis related to battery active materials. 

  • Able to use advanced analytical techniques for particle structure and property determination; demonstrated expertise in obtaining and interpreting composition-structure-property relationships.

  • High level of scientific creativity and a strong aptitude for problem-solving.

  • Self-starter that can carry out tasks with minimal oversight.

  • Team oriented; willing to share with, listen to and help others.
