Job Description

The Social Science Department is recruiting a part-time lecturer of history to teach two undergraduate sections of either Modern United States History or Modern World History during the upcoming fall semester. The two sections of either course will be offered in person on the UW-Stout campus. New instructor training will be provided before classes begin on September 7, 2022. This is an emergency hire to cover an unanticipated leave of absence and additional courses may be available for the spring 2023 semester, contingent on enrollment and need. Minimal Requirements:

Master’s degree in history or closely related field
Other highly desired qualifications include:

ABD status or PhD in history or closely related field
Experience teaching in a higher education setting
Record of interdisciplinary collaborations
Familiarity with UW- Stout’s general education program and polytechnic mission

The Social Science Department offers undergraduate courses in history, sociology, anthropology, social work, economics, political science, and geography, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Applied Social Science.
