Job Description

Are you an academic with a proven ability to carry out teaching and research in civil engineering materials and/or surveying? Do you have an excellent research record and proven success obtaining funding? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University?

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate academic who can combine research expertise in Civil Engineering Materials and related subjects with a teaching portfolio that will include Surveying and Materials. You will join the well-established group of materials researchers at Leeds and contribute to academic leadership in the area, particularly via the Neville Centre of Excellence in Cement and Concrete Engineering. You will also work closely with the various multidisciplinary research groups in the School that investigate e.g. the circular economy, architecture and buildings, and public health engineering to develop new collaborations.

You will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and experience of research in materials, including good publications in peer-reviewed journals, successful research grant applications, engagement with external collaborators e.g. standards committees and industrial collaborators, and key presentations at international conferences. You will also have a track record of leading and delivering UG and/or PG modules in surveying and materials science.
