Job Description

Are you a project or programme manager with significant experience of planning, establishing and delivering complex multi-partner projects? Have you worked with arts and cultural organisations? Are you passionate about supporting research and dissemination on projects of cultural value?

If you thrive on managing complex programmes, organising inputs from several partners and coordinating the work of researchers, cultural partners and fellow administrative staff, this is an exciting opportunity for you to make a real difference.

Applications are invited for a Project Manager to support Dr Haili Ma in her development of a UK-China research-industry creative partnership, specifically for an AHRC-funded project called “Bridging the Gaps: mixed reality performance in rural and urban Shanghai”.

This UK-China research-industry creative partnership brings together complementary expertise, knowledge and resources, across the UK and China creative industries, merging traditional and contemporary performance, and new technologies, with a shared focus on community-based and audience-centred innovative work, to generate a catalytic process of creativity. The aim of this proposed partnership is to explore ways of bridging Shanghai’s rural and urban communities, through mixed reality performance of Chinese opera, and to engage national and international audiences. The process aims to assist the UK-China performance and creative industries sectors to develop in-depth understanding of Chinese production and consumption patterns and form a ‘creative chain’ that would outlive the duration of the project and forge long term sustainable socio-economic development which will bring mutual benefit to both China and the UK.
