Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
45% Assisting in cancer animal model development, establishing xenograft murine tumors with NSG and wild type mice, carrying out drug dosing via tail vein and IP injection, collecting tumor volume measurements

45% Preparing proteins for animal studies as needed.

10% Assisting in maintaining plasmid and cell line database and repository

Required Qualifications:
BS in Biological Science, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or related field; or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years.
Experience with plasma protein expression
Experience with T-cell isolation, proliferation and storage
Ability to work collaboratively, with a diverse team of students and researchers

Preferred Qualifications:
> 1 year of Lab experience.
Experience working in a Bioengineering and Protein Production lab
In depth knowledge of biology
Experimental Design experience
Willingness to learn new laboratory and imaging techniques

Medicinal Chemistry is a dynamic, multifaceted scientific discipline that is dedicated to the improvement of human health through research that leads to the design and development of safe and effective therapeutic, diagnostic, and environmental agents.

Our Department consists of a diverse group of faculty members, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and research scientists working at the interface of chemistry and biology and is home to the editorial offices of the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and ACS Infectious Diseases.

The department is part of the College of Pharmacy and University health sciences, which house nationally and internationally acclaimed programs in the areas of biochemistry, neuroscience, pharmacology, virology, immunology, cancer biology, structural biology, and drug delivery.

The Graduate Program has been awarding PhD degrees to students for over seventy-five years. The program has a long and distinguished history of being among the top medicinal chemistry programs in the country.
