Summary

Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative II. The ideal candidate will understand AR follow up in a healthcare setting. The candidate should have knowledge on how to appeal a denied claim and check status of a claim by payer website or placing a telephone call to the payer.

Job Duties

  • Expedites and maximizes payment of insurance medical claims by contacting insurance payers and patients by  telephone or website 
  • Assists with inquiries from outside parties regarding account status.
  • Reviews invoices to verify payments and contractual adjustments.
  • Resolves all denials, and requests for information, including appeals.
  • Follows up on outstanding accounts and makes proper notations in EPIC system.
  • Provides guidance and technical work direction to less experienced Patient Account Representatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  •  High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
