Position Summary
The Department of Health Sciences Education and Pathology invites applications for non-tenured faculty at the rank of clinical assistant, associate or professor rank with expertise in Physiology to teach within the medical school curriculum. This position may serve as a course director for an integrated organ segment block. We are seeking innovative educators with energy and commitment to medical student education.

Duties & Responsibilities

Developing medical physiology content material that incorporates clinically relevant principles using currently available online technology, including educational modules, video, virtual reality, etc.
Employing multiple methods of pedagogy, including case-based instruction, large- and small-group discussion, lecture, demonstration, simulation, and team-based learning.
Co-directing integrated basic science modules with clinical faculty.
Working collaboratively with faculty from other basic science/clinical science departments and campuses to implement curriculum, including course schedules, materials, and exams.
Developing various formative and summative assessment tools, including NBME style multiple choice questions.
Participating in faculty development programs to enhance teaching and educational skills.
Engaging in scholarship related to the medical education focus of the department, clinical service (if applicable), and academic related service. Basic science research is not a requirement of this position, but such research could be negotiated as desired by the successful candidate.
Providing relevant academic service on local and college wide committees.
May serve as a course director.
Senior faculty with relevant administrative experience may be considered for the position of associate head of the department, who assists and advises the department head in all aspects of the operation of the department including budgeting, annual reporting, specialized programs and faculty promotion and retention.
Similarly, faculty with experience in medical education research may be considered for the position of director of medical education research, a leadership position that provides oversight for departmental research.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

PhD, MD/DO, DVM, with physiology background.
Previous experience in teaching within medical school or graduate health sciences.
