Job Description

Position Purpose
To lead and direct the design, development and implementation of data processing pipelines in support of research projects. To build and deploy machine learning and natural language processing models at scale. To analyze data and produce statistical analysis for publications. To independently implement research critical software development. To supervise the technical work of other lab staff.

This position drives the analytical work in my lab.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Masters or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Education and Experience
Masters in Data Science (or related field) and two years of experience

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating
Coding knowledge and experience with javascript.
Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.
Experience querying and designing databases (SQL, NoSQL).
Experience using and creating web services: REST APIs.
Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: ggplot.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
PhD in Data Science or related filed

Experience
Experience with Shiny.
Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc..
Experience with the Twitter API.
