Job Description

Position Highlights:

The primary role of the Director, Construction & Real Estate Finance is to direct and manage the corporate-wide financial operations of the Facilities Development & Real Estate Department of the Cancer Center.  These functions include capital program management, real estate portfolio management, capital financing, contract negotiation/execution and procurement activities. 

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Experience with construction and real estate finance, including bonds, leases, etc.
  • Experience with best practice procurement practices, contract negotiation and execution.
  • Familiarity with construction finance.
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate leasing and development.
  • Experience with documentation and implementation of internal controls and process improvement.
  • Capability to interact and present at the Executive Leadership and Board levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the direction and oversight of the Construction Development & Real Estate Finance Department and management of related functions including capital program management, real estate portfolio management, financing and procurement.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to meet the Cancer Center's needs and provide complete and accurate records of the construction and real estate portfolio.
  • Manages capital management program including development, implementation, reporting and monitoring activities.
  • Assists in the management of outsourced construction firms, owner's representatives, program managers, architects, etc.
  • Manages Cancer Center's Real Estate portfolio including the acquisition, development and management strategies to meet business requirements
  • Manages relationships with outsourced real estate providers and consultants in the areas of real estate
  • Responsible for the direction and management of the department's procurement functions.  The activities include sourcing, negotiation and execution of selection of goods and services.
  • Serves as a liaison and assists in the coordination and presentation to Executive Leadership, Facilities Committee and other Board meetings as needed.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
  • CPA required.
  • 10 or more years financial and accounting experience with at least 7 in the healthcare setting.
  • Minimum 5 years managerial experience required.
  • Strong communication skills.
