The University Libraries seeks to recruit a new Stacks Manager. The Stacks Management Team is responsible for the care and maintenance of the Bizzell Memorial Library stacks and provides accurate, managed items that are easily accessible to users of Bizzell Memorial Library and its collections. This position reports to the Head of Storage and Delivery and collaborates with other departments to provide excellent service to library users.

 

Job Requirements

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED, AND

  • 24 months office, clerical, or administrative experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds in a respectful, equitable and inclusive way.
  • Ability to perform highly-detailed oriented tasks and coordinate with appropriate personnel as required
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously  
  • Ability to build and sustain effective interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively in a diverse and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on daily tasks and complete work within deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email, telephone skills

Certifications:

  • Driver's license valid in the state of Oklahoma

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry up to fifty pounds, push loaded book trucks, and engage in regular bending, stretching, reaching, and stooping. Ability to sit and/or work at a computer monitor for up to eight hours.

Supervision: Student Group

Department Preferences:

  • Relevant library experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Supervisory or team-lead experience
