Reporting to the Dean and serving as a member of the College’s Executive Committee, the Executive Director of Administration, Finance and Operations oversees all college financial management and accounting activities, HR and IT functions, and building operations. The Executive Director also manages a small team of finance and operations professionals in the College.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides leadership for the administrative, financial, and operational functions of Price College.
  • Prepares and manages annual budgets and monitors against actual performance.
  • Oversees and approves college financial commitments and expenditures, including OU and OU Foundation transactions.
  • Leads and supervises a team and liaises with the Shared Business Service Center to process payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reconciliations for all college accounts and funds.
  • Works in close partnership with central offices, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, IT, Provost, Budget, and others on matters impacting the College.
  • Works closely and provides financial, personnel/HR guidance to academic directors, division assistants, and program directors to ensure university policies and procedures are followed.
  • Maintains College records for faculty, staff, and student employees in accordance with records retention policy and procedures.
  • Provides financial reports to program directors, endowed chair and professorship holders.
  • Coordinates all facility matters, including capital projects, for both Adams and Price Halls.
  • Prepares annual AACSB Finance and Compensation surveys.
  • Supervises, supports, or performs personnel-related activities involved with hiring, promotion, termination, performance issues, position changes and compensation. Orients new faculty and staff to University and College policies and procedures. Assists new faculty and staff in obtaining office space, equipment, and other pertinent resources.
  • Oversees the Price College IT function and team.
  • Performs other duties as needed to fulfill the functions of the position successfully.

Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, AND: 

  •  36 months financial management experience with contracts, billing or Federal and State accounting, of which 24 months of the 36 months is business management and employee supervision.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 84 months

Skills:

  • Experienced in developing, managing, and overseeing budgets, projecting expenditures, and managing recommended solutions.
  • Ability to identify and implement operational efficiencies to improve the effectiveness of the College.
  • Proficient in navigating and maintaining databases.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with ability to build and manipulate spreadsheets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience in leading and promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to consistently handle and prioritize multiple tasks while accurately attending to detail.
  • Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the university – both internal and external.
  • An effective and professional communicator with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision towards problem solutions.
  • Proficient in staff supervision and management, including development and implementation of HR policies, training of employees, communication of directions and expectations, and performance evaluation.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask and to move, engage in repetitive motions, and communicate effectively.

Departmental Preferences:

  • MBA, Master’s in Finance or Accounting, or CPA.
  • Previous experience at OU within the last 2-3 years in a financial management role.
  • Sixty months of progressively responsible experience including financial management, accounting, and staff supervision at a university or higher education institution.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure while handling multiple, shifting, high, and competing priorities.
  • Experienced and comfortable in working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Able to maintain discretion for confidential information and appropriately handle critical information and sensitive situations.
  • Ability to research, gather and analyze data, compile and synthesize information, and draft suggested correspondence, presentations, and reports.

  • Three financial analysts, one senior accounting specialist
  • Director of IT
