Intermediate Web Developer -

OU HSC is one of only four comprehensive academic health centers in the nation with seven professional colleges. We are an academic leader in the field of Health and Care Management. We are looking for an Intermediate Web Application Developer:

 

 DUTIES:

  • Responsible for developing and/or designing websites. Coordinates with a team of other developers in creating, maintaining, and updating websites.
  •  Designs, builds, and maintains website and software applications.
  •  Uses scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications, and digital media.
  •  Confers with teams to resolve conflicts, prioritize needs, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.
  •  Directs or performs Website updates.
  •  Develops or validates test routines. Ensures test cases mimic external interfaces and addresses all browser and device types.
  •  Edits, writes, or designs Website content, and directs team members who produce content.
  •  Maintains an understanding of the latest Web applications and programming practices through education, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and groups.
  •  Backs up files from Web sites to local directories for recovery.
  •  Identifies problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing. Corrects or refers problems to appropriate personnel for correction.
  •  Evaluates code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
  •  Determines user needs by analyzing technical requirements.
  •  Performs various duties successfully as needed to fulfill the function of the position.
  • Identifies trends to generate business insights and recommend growth strategies
  • Responsible for working with functional and technical areas to analyze business processes, gather business reporting requirements, understand the report or project objectives, and manage issues
  • Creates detailed data mapping and reporting specification replication tools for business intelligence
  • Defines, designs, and develops queries and reports using available tools
  • Analyzes data and builds reports from the data and dashboards
  • Develops new functionality workflows
  • Coordinates user testing, signoff, and acceptance throughout the development lifecycle
  • Maintains and/or creates technical documentation
  • Develops policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data
  • Provides technical and analytical support for faculty, staff, and students
  • Facilitates the review of requests for information and helps ensure the most effective development of new reporting tools and reports
  • Participates in knowledge sharing and maintains thorough knowledge of current technology trends and advancements

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: 48 months as a Web Application Developer

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 96 months of related experience

Required Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical people.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple, parallel activities and organize time and resources.
  • Critical thinking skills that include the ability to analyze end user requirements and translate into key data points to be used across the business.
  • Ability to write, edit, and optimize queries.
  • At least some experience with C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability in communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of programming language and technical terminology.
  • Knowledge of how web applications work including security and best development practices.
  • Ability to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them.
  • High degree of independent judgment.
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Customer service skills

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Must be able to engage in repetitive motions. Ability to sit for short or extended periods of time.
