Summary

The Department of Hematology & Oncology at Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled Financial Analyst. This role will perform financial analysis and prepare specialized financial reports for assigned for CRO cash awards or Principal Investigator's (PI's) sponsored projects for clinical trials, assist with preparation of the BCM Annual budget, and analyze gifts and funds for special conditions/restrictions. The Financial Analyst will also manage and report on more complex accounts, including multi-center and multi-arm clinical trials, Phase I/II sponsored studies, COG protocols, and will share responsibility in managing the 500+ protocol, 250+ accounts with another Financial Analyst in the Clinical Research Office (CRO) of the Cancer Center.

Job Duties

  • Analyzes financial reports for assigned cost centers/projects by running reports from SAP inclusive of Personnel, Supplies, Services, and Other expenses, composing an excel spreadsheet/report (this report includes pivot tables and v-look up tables which ultimately provides an overview for the PI on their overall awarded budget, implementing posted and projected expenses while ensuring the PI remains within budget and in full compliance per the grant guidelines).  
  • Assists with the BCM Annual Budget which includes accounting for cost and effort for faculty and staff on assigned grants and applicable expenses for other budgeted categories, including personnel and SSO, as well as forecasting on these accounts.  
  • Reconciles sponsored project accounts for clinical trials, prepares and invoices sponsors, reviews shopping carts, travel requests, and any and all financial transactions involving assigned clinical trial project accounts.
  • Manages clinical trials with award amounts >$250K-$2 million and also completes annual budgeting for all clinical trial accounts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Extensive Excel experience.
