Job Description
Please note this role is open to current employees of the University of Leeds working in the IT Service only
Salary: Grade 9 (£53,353 – £61,823 p.a. depending on experience)
This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you committed to evolving resource management, finding new ways to practice planning, scheduling, and allocating people, money, and technology to a project or programme. Do you love finding new ways of delighting your customers and colleagues?
The University of Leeds is one of the top 135 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.
You will lead the transition of the IT department’s demand and capacity capability towards increasingly Agile and product-based ways of working, as well as managing a team to improve prioritisation processes, structures and tools.
With experience of how to best utilise shared and limited resources, you will be able to demonstrate experience of creating visibility into demand and capacity, as well as managing the required skills for particular work versus available skills. You will consider schedules, budgets, and alignment with corporate strategy to make sure you are prioritising resources across the portfolio to maximise its value.
You will also demonstrate ability to identity and prioritise improvement opportunities that enable customer-focused delivery, whether in reducing lead-times, unblocking resource constraints or recommending alternative delivery models.
As part of the IT Leadership Team, you will work collaboratively with the leadership team across all functions to ensure that capacity and capability are effectively deployed to deliver a seamless service for customers. You will be responsible for minimising waste and duplication, streamlining and automating processes (where possible), and maximising and speeding throughput, ensuring The University’s IT project delivery function is in a better position to respond quickly to customer demands and be quick to react to change.
If you are looking for a role that will help the University change the world apply today.
