Summary

The research is an exciting study looking at the effects of direct brain electrical stimulation and memory changes. Laboratory helper will perform memory testing on patients attending the epilepsy clinic after adequate training to perform the testing.

Job Duties

  • Designs and conducts research experiments.

  • Able to design and administer neuropsychology testing that consists of a 12-word list that is read out to the patient, or displayed on the laptop, followed by testing recall of the 12 words immediately and after 20 minutes. 

  • Performs testing device care. The device is a laptop computer attached to a USB device/wand that will used during testing.

  • Optionally carries the device to the testing site at Baylor or UT Hermann. If travel is possible, the device will also be carried to Austin. Optionally, travel to non-Baylor sites (UT Hermann, UT Austin, UT Southwestern Dallas).

  • Cleans data and organizes all into excel spreadsheets. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree.
  • PhDs or MDs.
  • Statistical knowledge to run analysis (SPSS, R, Matlab).
