About This Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated, well-versed video communicator to join our Department. The Video Production Specialist position supports K-State Research and Extension (KSRE), the College of Agriculture (CoA), and select affiliated organizational partners. Specifically, the incumbent in this position will create video and digital media content using best practices for communication and marketing with a focus on viewer education and storytelling.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Coordinate the creation of digital video content for KSRE social media accounts, websites, blogs, and e-newsletters. Content should promote the work of researchers and extension professionals and boost brand awareness.
Serve as a subject-matter specialist in video production. Provide in-person and time-shifted training in basic video production, usage, and social media implementation to KSRE and College of Agriculture faculty and staff.
Stay current with technologies and trends in digital and video media, communication tools, and applications.
Travel to provide live-event video and presentation support for clients at key industry events.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a bachelor’s degree and one to three years of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.


Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications or related field.
Demonstrated knowledge of web-based video and social media analytics and SEO.
Flexibility and enthusiasm in working on multiple, unique projects simultaneously.
Experience working in television, a communications and marketing agency, or a similar professional communications environment.
Experience creating 2D and 3D animation.
Experience with developing, implementing, and monitoring organizational brand(s) and ensuring brand consistency.
Experience with multi-platform communications; audio production and editing; photography; desktop publishing using the Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with social media tools, web design, and blogging platforms.
