The Assistant Director of Big Screens is responsible for creating high-energy, engaging video content to entertain fans and create a great home-environment for Oklahoma Athletics. The position offers the opportunity to work with all sports at Oklahoma Athletics, with oversight responsibilities of content creation and big screen productions for a variety of teams.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for collegiate athletics and demonstrate a high ceiling for video content creation ability.

The candidate will be expected to produce a wide variety of content, which requires in-studio and on-site shoots with student-athletes, as well as post-production edits with game action / acquired footage. Working with a variety of canvas sizes, the candidate will need to think creatively and find ways to use the tools, such as After Effects, to format content across various venues.

This position will work closely with the Sooner Sports Properties to ensure sponsorship execution, along with the OU Marketing Department in the planning and execution of all in-game promotions/features. As a result, nights and weekends will be required in support of live games as assigned. This position is also responsible for content preparation and execution for auxiliary events (both in and outside of athletics) involving digital signage and big screen usage.

Essential Functions:

  • Content preparation and creation

  • Daktronics training, maintenance, troubleshooting
  • Sponsorship meetings, organization, and aggregation
 

Job Requirements

Required Education:  Bachelor's degree in videography, communications, broadcasting, or related field, AND: 

  • 24 months of industry experience in broadcasting or video production

Equivalency/Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.

Skills:

  • Adobe Creative Suite or similar video production tools
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and informationAbility to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to produce reports and complete work within deadlines
  • Strong initiative to solve problems in a timely manner
Certifications:
  • Valid Driver's License 

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Communicate effectively. 
  • Engage in repetitive motion.

Department Preferences:

  • Daktronics Software and Equipment
  • Knowledge and understanding of NCAA and Big 12 rules.
  • Experience with intercollegiate athletics.
