Title and Rank: Tenure-Eligible, Associate/Full Professor, 12 month appointment

Responsibilities: Supports the development of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences through mentoring, teaching, research/scholarship, and service activities.

Salary: Commensurate with rank, qualifications, and experience.

Job Description:

Administration:

  • Create and lead the department’s interdisciplinary research and scholarship plans, activities that stimulate an increase in research productivity, as well as foster the development of research teams and individual faculty development.
  • Mentor junior, mid-career and senior colleagues in research/scholarship agends to include grant procurement and post-grant management.
  • Work collaboratively with the CAH Grants Management Office and the CAH Associate Dean of Research

Research/Scholarship:

  • Maintain an organized, viable, and fundable research agenda using internal and external collaborations and resources.
  • Procure internal and external grant funding to support individual and/or team-based research projects.
  • Maintain a consistent record of research dissemination activities to include publications and presentations through local, national and international opportunities.
  • Mentor DSc and PhD students in research activities as appropriate.

Teaching:

  • Active teaching within the interprofessional OT & PT and post-professional curricula.
  • Participate in the curriculum design, delivery, and accreditation process.
  • Advise and mentor students in the post-professional programs   
  • Support and promote a collaborative and positive learning environment for students.
  • Deliver courses with innovative and evidence-based teaching methods

Service:

  • Contribute to University, College, Department, and Program committees.
  • Active involvement in grant review groups and professional associations at national level.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned academic doctoral degree with a research focu that prepares the candidate for independent research and mentoring
  • Established research agenda which has clear evidence of funding and dissemination.
  • Record of reviewing, evaluating, and providing feedback to others on grant applications.
  • Established record of working on interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Evidence of successful research mentoring with faculty.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Academic doctoral degree in an area that complements the rehabilitation sciences (including but not limited to Public Health, other health degrees, bioengineering, etc.)
  • Research agenda that aligns with department, college, and university research priorities and strategic plans
  • Evidence of service as a national grant reviewer (e.g. for NIH, DoD, or NSF).
  • Experience with entry-level and post-professional student teaching in an academic setting.
  • Evidence of successful mentoring of Ph.D. students, M.S. students, and/or post-doctoral scholars.
  • Experience with course and curriculum design.
