Position Summary
The Department of Business Information & Technology in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor in Business Analytics, effective Fall semester 2023, pending available funding. Responsibilities include effectively teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing a stream of high-quality research, participating in Department activities, and fulfilling professional and university service duties. Preference will be given to candidates whose teaching and research interests focus on data analytics and business intelligence.
Minimum Position Qualifications
Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in MIS or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution or foreign equivalent (Advanced ABDs will be considered if degree completion is imminent). Potential candidates should have a willingness to teach both undergraduate and graduate levels, both in-person and online. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach technical classes such as data analytics, business intelligence, application development, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The successful candidate is expected to have a record of effective college teaching and commitment to teaching excellence, and evidence of development of a strong research program targeting leading journals in the field.
