Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Engineering Technology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant/associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2023. The position is contingent upon funding.

This position requires the ability, interest, and commitment to excel in teaching, research, and public service. The successful candidate will be required to:

• develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses (lecture and laboratory) in digital systems design, automation & controls, microcontrollers, robotics, mechatronic systems, automation & controls, and other related subjects.

• supervise graduate and undergraduate research and capstone design projects.

• pursue scholarly activities, including developing an externally funded research program and publishing peer-reviewed journal articles.

• engage in academic mentoring.

• engage local industry through outreach events, on-campus career fairs, professional meetings, etc.

• assist in program assessments and executing the department’s continuous improvement plan.

• participate in appropriate professional services, activities, organizations, and public service.

Required Education
A terminal degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date. ABD will be considered if close to completion. For contract renewal, a doctoral degree must be earned no later than August 1, 2024.

Other Desirables
Applicants with relevant industrial experience, an established teaching and research record at the college level, as well as those with a PE license will receive special consideration.
