POSITION SUMMARY:

This FCN Data Engineer 1 will collaborate with key business stakeholders, IT experts and subject-matter experts to plan and deliver optimal analytics and data science solutions integrated with business processes for FCN. Position will review, analyze, and consolidate existing data for the FCN program. Position will also set up and data systems that will be user friendly and suitable to collect and analyze and complete basic data engineering tasks with limited guidance from the FCN Workforce Informaticist Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gather survey data, analyze, present and advise on nurse education, supply and demand. Build data flows that integrate, transform, and consolidate data from various using metadata management services such as Azure, Synapse, Azure Purview, and PowerBI that are suitable for building analytics solutions. Conducts data analyses of FCN data on a variety of institutional topics related to nursing faculty data and licensees. Supports FCN by performing analysis on internal projects.

Consulting, Research, surveying, analysis and policy recommendation development for all categories of nursing workforce. Secure management of all data received by the FCN office from state and government agencies. Format and combine multiple large spreadsheets into standard format; creating visual graphs; charts and tables in order to effectively communicate research findings.

Work collaboratively by mentoring new and existing co-workers, building bridges, and creating rapport with team members across the organization and State of Florida programs. Participate on committee, boards and represent the Florida Center for Nursing (FCN).

Analyze LPN, RN, and APRN licensee data at state and regional levels including but not limited to comparing Florida data with multi-state licenses, education, specialties, employment setting. Automate the most-common repeatable and tedious data preparation and integration tasks in order to minimize manual and error-prone processes and improve productivity.

Contribute to the creation of reports and publications, along with other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training, OR a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and one year of relevant work experience, OR a combination of 4 years of relevant work experience and validated training.

Preparation for a relevant IT certification, validated through certification requirements and documentation of completion, is considered to be related training.
