JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Admissions in the College of Medicine, this position will be responsible for the coordination of recruitment efforts and the maintenance and reporting of data in the Office of Admissions.The admissions coordinator also coordinates the scheduling and execution of the interview process as part of the College of Medicine Office of Admissions applicant selection process.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates the student admissions process for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program and manage interview day activities.
Leads daily informational sessions for candidates interviewing .
Coordinates the Tour Guide Program for candidates.
Counsels and advises prospective students by providing detailed information in response to inquiries and requests regarding the MD program, the admissions process for the program, and the status of individual applications.
Assists with New Student Orientation.
Collects and analyzes technical applicant data (GPA, MCAT scores, and interview evaluations, etc.) and prepares analytical reports.
Assists with the organization of the interview process for CoM applicants.
Gathers and presents relevant data, trends, and research to inform admissions recruitment strategy in targeted geographical locations, including strategies for recruitment of URiM students
Supports the College of Medicine’s strategic and operational needs through ongoing and periodic maintenance of admissions data and reporting.
Performs other duties as assigned.




MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (Prior experience in a medical school preferred) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of related experience OR a combination of college coursework and related work experience to equal four (4) years related admissions experience OR Associate Degree and two (2) years of related experience.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge of health professions student development and academic programming.
Knowledgeable of university and college academic policies, financial aid policies, academic records, medical school entrance procedures and available student resources.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products -Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, time and project management skills.
The ability to work with diverse populations. and cultural communication styles.
