Position Description

The Department of Choral Studies, Music Education and Sacred Music at Rider University seeks adjunct instructors – Organ for the 2023–2024 academic  year. The successful candidates will teach applied lessons to organ concentration students in the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degree programs.

The goal hire date is December 2022 for a start date of September 2023.

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Active performing career as an organist
  • Experience leading services and accompanying choirs
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching organ lessons
  • Ability to recruit students for the organ program at Westminster Choir College
  • Demonstrated team building experience and success
  • Highly Organized 
  • At least one degree in organ performance or other degree with organ primary (ex. sacred music).

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • MM Organ Performance or MM Sacred Music with Organ Concentration
  • Ability to teach Harpsichord
