Organization Summary:

The Department of Electrical Engineering at USF has 25 tenure-track/tenured track faculty members and 2 instructors hailing from some of the finest institutions in the country. Among these faculty we have NSF CAREER Award winners, Fellows of the IEEE, AAAS, AIMBE, and Distinguished University Professors. Many serve in national leadership roles in technical societies, such as the IEEE, and have industry experience to complement their academic backgrounds. This diversity in our faculty enriches the learning experiences of our students. The Department of Electrical Engineering offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees and serves approximately 700 undergraduate students, 160 M.S., students and 90 Ph.D. students. The department has substantial and growing collaborations with CyberFlorida, the Institute of Applied Engineering, and Moffitt Cancer Center. Our faculty are active in research areas spanning machine learning applications in IoT, speech, computer vision and more, wireless communications, nano/microfabrication, RF MEMS and IC’s, radar, wireless and microwave systems, renewable energy source integration and smart grid automation, cybersecurity, data analytics, systems and control theory, robotics, electronic materials for sensors and energy applications, and more. Total research expenditures for 2020-2021 was $5.7 million

Established in 1964 and currently led by Dean Robert H. Position Summary:

The Department of Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Junior (Assistant Professor) level. The position is expected to commence August 2023. Qualified candidates should have demonstrated excellence in scholarly research and publications, the strong potential for sustaining an externally funded research program, and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Successful applicants are expected to conduct research and teach in areas across the electrical engineering discipline with a preference on the following areas: 1) Next generation communications including but not limited to 6G wireless or quantum communications, 2) Analog, digital, mixed-signal, RF, and photonic IC design including but not limited to emerging areas such as quantum computing and integrated circuits for 2D/3D integration.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates should have completed or be near completion of a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
