The Program Coordinator plays a key role in the development, implementation, and administration of diversity, equity, and inclusion related activities, events, programs, and special projects at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center campus for faculty, staff, and students. The position will coordinate programs by planning programs/events, coordinating activities and projects, distributing information, communicating, troubleshooting, preparing reports, collecting and maintaining data, attending meetings, etc., under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
1. Program Planning. Creates, implements, and manages programs, activities, and trainings that provide awareness, advocacy, and education around diversity, equity, and inclusion for the Health Sciences Center campus.
2. Activity Coordination. Coordinates various activities requiring initiative and independent action. Ensures quality, service, and goals are achieved in a timely manner.
3. Project Coordination. Coordinates and carries out projects and assignments to provide support pertaining to the department’s initiatives. May include maintenance of calendar of events and office website, event planning, producing in-house publications, etc.
5. Communication. Communicates with students, faculty, staff, alumni, professionals, etc. Develops and maintains relationships with various departments, colleges, individuals, community agencies, universities, etc.
6. Troubleshooting. Analyzes a variety of problems and carries out special assignments to solve those problems.
7. Report Preparation. Independently develops original drafts of materials pertaining to the campus programs.
8. Data Collection. Collects data and researches various materials. Gathers information through verbal and written inquiry and evaluates and/or prepares presentations, newsletters, etc.
9. Data Maintenance. Maintains various forms of data for the department. May include metrics to assess programming/training results against goals/objectives to help shape and guide continued efforts.
10. Support Duties. Answers phones, schedules meetings, makes copies, files documents, manages office finances and financial records, greets visitors, attends or visits various events and/or meetings that involve support for the department, keeps abreast of current issues, etc.
11. As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

 

Job Requirements

Required Education: <p>Required: Bachelor&#x27;s degree.<br/><br/>Equivalency&#x2F;Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor&#x27;s degree for a total of 60 months experience.</p>

  • <p>Required: 12 months in student programming, student services, or closely related experience<strong>.</strong></p>

Skills:

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.</p>

Departmental Preferences:

  • <p>Knowledgeable about cultural competence, inclusive communication practices, cross-cultural communication, and current trends related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with public speaking and report writing. Ability to interact effectively and work collaboratively with others.</p>
