Job Description Summary

Reporting to the IT Director, this Sr IT Support Specialist position will provide cross-team support for Public Computing and Classroom Technology with a holistic perspective encompassing both user and technology support in the classrooms, as well as the labs and other public spaces. This individual will be one of the primary technical resources ensuring that faculty, staff, and guests are able to successfully utilize the technology and equipment in our public spaces for classes, conferences, and special events.

This position will provide front-line support if there is an equipment failure or when an end-user needs assistance, respond to computing/software/printing requests, and help to provide multimedia production services for classes, lectures, meetings, special events and external production events. Work performed may include training of staff on new classroom technology, production equipment, repairing broken equipment, working with outside vendors for repairs, coordinating and troubleshooting new installations, and coordinating multimedia equipment.

This individual is critical to creating and maintaining a positive experience in our public spaces; the successful candidate must strive always to build confidence in the dependability of Wharton's technology, as well as the support teams' expertise and ability to handle incidents quickly and effectively.

On-call contact may be required during non-business hours to respond to urgent, high priority, and escalated service issues or outages. This includes the potential for both evening and weekend hours.

For this position, the individual is required to physically report to campus as needed to support in-person academic activities as well as manage a remote work schedule when not on campus.
