Job Description

Position Summary
Determine best technical solutions and support to satisfy NYU IT's functional and business requirements for various business intelligence applications. Define requirements for installing and improving related systems and determine appropriate timing for implementation of system modifications or upgrades. Document systems design, create specification, flow charts, and other related diagrams based on user or system design specifications. Analyze data and desired end results to develop testing and conversion plans.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred Education:
Additional coursework relevant to this position (e.g., systems analysis, database systems, data analysis, Java, web programming).

Required Experience:
3-5 years professional level work in the design, development and implementation of enterprise solutions for business applications in broad-scale, web-delivered environments, including 3+ years experience with data warehouse technology, data analysis, system design and modeling, business intelligence, reporting operations. Experience in programming using Datastage Infosphere/Ascential ETL tool Knowledge of PL/SQL, ETL Tools, Dimensional Modeling, Star Schema Modeling, FACT and dimensional tables.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with data warehousing, including ETL expertise, dimensional data modeling, star join schema modeling, FACT and dimensions tables, and physical and logical data modeling. Experience with PeopleSoft EPM and OBIEE. OBIEE experience to include system administration knowledge.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent communication, problem-solving, analytical, and multi-tasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office application tools (i.e., Power Point, Excel, Word, and Visio). Demonstrated ability to design, deliver, and clearly articulate technical solutions based on business intelligence tools that meet both business needs and established practices (including coding and development standards). Demonstrated leadership skills in technical initiatives. Ability to generate detailed documentation. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-organizational teams, across different geographic regions, who may have varied technical skills and to share knowledge for the betterment of the team and the organization. Demonstrated ability to adapt priorities as business needs evolve. Demonstrated understanding and use of change management systems and procedures. Proven ability to manage and meet tight project deadlines.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Oracle database administration. Proficiency in programming languages, XML, Windows, LINUX, and UNIX platforms, and LAN technologies.
