Short Description
Frostburg State University, Department of Physics and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Program (collaborative Mechanical Engineering program between Frostburg State University and University of Maryland-College Park) seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering position to begin in January 2023. Technical areas of interest include the broad area of thermal sciences and fluid mechanics. Salary and rank commensurate with experience and qualifications; University System of Maryland benefits package included.

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) includes the Department of Physics and Engineering. Description of Ongoing/New Duties
Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching undergraduate thermal science and fluid mechanics courses and related engineering courses, mentoring students, and developing undergraduate-level research projects. Duties will include student advising, professional development activities, and service to the Department, College, and Community.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, ability to teach thermal science and related engineering courses. Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Strong background and experience in Mechanical Engineering and related discipline course teaching. Proven experience and engagement in engineering education. Specific teaching interest in Thermodynamics, Transfer Processes, Fluid Mechanics, and other related courses.
