Job Description

The Department of Food Science at the University of Tennessee, Institute of Agriculture, invites applications for the Post-doctoral Research Associate position under the direction of Dr. Jiajia Chen. The individual is expected to conduct fundamental and applied research in food process engineering, write grant proposals, prepare manuscripts for publications, assist in training and supervising graduate and undergraduate students, manage lab activities, and perform other academic duties as requested by the PI. Candidates are expected to have earned a Ph.D. in food science, agricultural engineering, or other related areas when the position starts. This is a full-time, regular position and is contingent upon continued funding and satisfactory performance. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate must have strong research and publication records in one of the following areas:
Modeling of food processes
Food safety engineering
Cellular agriculture
Qualifications
