Who we are

Facilities Analytics & Mapping in the Division of Operations is an emerging department which supports the University vision through the collection, organization, analysis, and reporting of facilities and geospatial information of the campus built environment in order to support the teaching and research mission of the university. We are a service focused department and will be the initial point of contact for departmental space tracking, Move analysis and support, campus map and GIS data management, and Facility document management.

The Facilities Space Analyst, under general supervision, is responsible for updating, compiling, and providing analysis and interpretation of data related to the TAMU space inventory. Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 years of related experience in data collection and analysis and/or using data management information systems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Other Requirements or Other Factors:

May be required to occasionally lift and/ or move light weight objects.
May be required to regularly navigate accessible spaces.
Sitting for long periods of time
Preferred Experience:

Experience with survey/inspection software.
Experience with facilities and operations in large-scale commercial or educational facilities.
Experience working with customers in a large business or educational setting.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of contract management and knowledge of work management software.
Knowledge of survey instruments and compilation of data for measurement and analysis.
Knowledge of continuous improvement and/or process improvement.
Knowledge of project management software and knowledge of construction management.
Knowledge of facility assessments. Knowledge of CAD software.
Knowledge of TAMU systems and software (ex. Workday, Qualtrics, FAMIS, etc).
Responsibilities:

Data Analysis - Develops, maintains, and updates databases for key performance indicators. Develops and performs needed assessments to identify problematic data, make corrections, and eliminate causes of data problems. Analyzes and interprets data, both from quantitative and qualitative analyses, using accepted statistical methods and qualitative research methods. Prepares, maintains, and presents historical and comparative data. Performs continuous improvement of key performance indicator measures and provides suggestions to management. Oversees the collection and analyses of data. Trains staff on collection of data.
Reporting - Produces data reports management. Identifies and analyzes trends. Responds to requests for information and prepares ad-hoc reports and query analyses in desired formats.
Directing Work - Directs work of student workers. Performs other duties as assigned.
