The Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) is hiring a Training Manager for Health and Behavioral Health Initiatives to support the work of the SPRC Healthcare Inititaives Team through coordination and facilitation of suicide prevention educational resources and trainings for healthcare providers and systems in the United States. This work will include a strong focus on providers and systems that serve American Indian/ Alaska Native tribes and communities. SPRC, based at the University of Oklahoma, is the nation’s only federally funded center devoted to advancing the U.S. National Strategy for Suicide Prevention. The Training Manager for Health and Behavioral Health Initiatives position is an excellent opportunity to join a mission-driven team that provides timely and high-quality instructional resources and training activities for healthcare audiences, including clinicians providing direct patient care and healthcare administrators. This position will have an important role in the development, promotion, and integration of educational material that SPRC’s training and technical assistance goals. 

Duties:

  1. Gather information from SPRC stakeholders, partner organizations, subject matter experts (SMEs), and target audiences to identify learning needs, goals, and the direction of content.
  2. Support the design and development of instructional activities and products (e.g., courses, webinars, videos, podcasts, documents, etc.) for healthcare audiences.
  3. Facilitate the implementation and delivery of educational products to appropriate audiences.
  4. Support the evaluation of the implementation and effectiveness of learning products and strategies.
  5. Support the quality assurance and quality improvement of products and activities.
  6. Assess and manage procedures for continuing education and accreditation of SPRC products and activities
  7. Document and maintain records of procedures, products, and activities.
  8. Advise on current and emerging learning needs of the healthcare workforce.
  9. Handle administrative duties across designated projects.
  10. Perform other tasks as needed to successfully meet the function of the position.

This position is eligible for remote work depending on state of residence. Please note salary is not negotiable outside of posted range per OU policy.

 

Job Requirements

Required Education:  Bachelor's degree, AND: 

  • 48 months of program development, program management or related experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others, engage in repetitive motion including movements of the hands, wrists or fingers, sit, stand, touch including finger dexterity, push, pull, carry, and lift.

 

Departmental Preferences:

  • Familiarity with and experience working within tribal health and/or behavioral health systems
  • 48 months experience coordinating training or professional development activities
  • 24 months experience providing or coordinating training in the mental health or behavioral health field
  • Master's degree in a health or behavioral health field
  • Licensure as a health or behavioral health provider
