The Strategic Prevention Technical Assistance Center housed in the Southwest Prevention Center, has an opening for a Training and Technical Assistance (T/TA) Specialist who will report to the Regional Team Lead. The Training & Technical Assistance Specialist for the Strategic Prevention Technical Assistance Center is responsible for moving training and consultation sessions from conceptualization, through development and delivery, and on to post-production. 

Duties:

  • Plan, develop, and coordinate classes, workshops, and conferences
  • Apply knowledge about substance misuse prevention to inform products and trainings
  • Research and assess the workforce development needs of prevention professionals 
  • Develop and edit instructional materials 
  • Develop and deliver high-visibility presentations 
  • Coordinate proposal development and project implementation
  • Identify and recruit technical consultants and develop their scope of work
  • Advise on complex training or product and training design projects; may lead design projects or supervise multiple events
  • Provide training and technical assistance to prevention professionals and partners virtually and in-person
  • Assist with development of departmental budget
  • Coordinate contract and quality adherence
  • Will be required to travel

This position may be located remotely or in the Norman, Oklahoma office.

 

Job Requirements

Required Education: Master's degree,  AND: 

  • 36 months of program administration or related experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: will accept 72 months of related experience in lieu of the Master's degree for a total of 108 months of related experience.

  • Knowledge of fundamental principles and adult education
  • Software: online conferencing software (e.g., Zoom, GoToMeeting), Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel), Adobe

Certifications:

  • ICRC prevention specialist certification, or related alternative certification or achieve within one year from hire.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions, communicate effectively and move.  

 

Departmental Preferences:

  • Master’s Degree in instructional design, adult education, social work, counseling, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in the field of substance misuse prevention or behavioral health 

Supervision:  No Supervisory Duties
