Job Description
This position is a member of the server administration team, responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting server operating systems and supporting compute, storage and networking platforms. Contributes to the administration of infrastructure systems used to deliver core services to the university. Works closely with junior administrators supporting systems platforms. Contributes to or leads infrastructure projects that support core system’s service delivery.

Duties include:
Operations
Proactively monitors server health and performs incident remediation. Monitors and addresses internal incident and service requests. Performs routine maintenance on core infrastructure platforms, aligning internal processes with security standards and peer feedback. Administers applications that support the daily workloads for systems operations. Performs documentation and code review for junior staff members.

Process Improvement
Reviews and maintains established operational procedures and updates related documentation as necessary. Maintains infrastructure code for internal team automation and reporting. Presents team trainings sessions on operational procedures to increase awareness of daily operation practices and support role redundancy.

Engineering
Responsible for the coordination and design of minor, non-critical, infrastructure systems that support service and operational level agreements. Collaborates on projects with cross functional resource groups to provide expertise for compute and storage resources.

Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other directly related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum of 1 years experience in an Information Technology field.
Demonstrated ability to be a team player in a fast paced environment.
Comfortable with documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Possesses analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience managing and supporting datacenter compute and storage infrastructure.
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting server operating systems and software.
Comfortable working in complex datacenter networks, across multiple sites and physical locations.
Knowledge of data protection and disaster recovery operations.
Familiarity with general server security controls and their implementation.
Experience with ITIL, ITSM and Agile concepts and practices.

Pay Rate
Salary is commensurate with candidate’s experience and qualifications.
