This position is part of a small team of dedicated professionals responsible for the shipping/receiving, delivery and storage of items in spaces overseen by OU Housing and Food Services, to include residence halls, offices, restaurants, and apartments.  Position will also serve as part of a team of haulers responsible for moving and adjusting furniture within designated spaces and/or moving furniture to and from the designated spaces and to/from/around the centralized warehouses. 

 

Job Requirements

Required Education: High School diploma or GED, AND: 

  • 12 months experience in shipping and receiving

Skills:

  • Uses tools or equipment in a manner requiring some training or instruction

  • Reads and interprets basic written materials

  • Uses addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to exchange information

Certifications:

  •  Valid driver's license to drive OU vehicles 

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • May perform shift work
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs. or more - frequently
  • Must be able to climb ladders (6, 8, 10, 20 ft.)
  • Must be able to crouch, bend, crawl, reach, pull, push, drag, and grip
  • May have constant exposure to loud noises
  • May be exposed to extreme temperature changes and an outdoor environment
  • Will be required to drive
  • May be exposed to physical and/or mental stress or discomfort
  • May be exposed to confined spaces
  • Will be required to complete and pass physical exam prior to employment

Department Preferences:

  • Prefer 3-6 months previous maintenance or hauling experience
  • Prefer fork lift operator license
