The Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences is seeking an Administrative Support Specialist to join its team.  The Administrative Support Specialist will provide administrative support for the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences Academic Services, academic advisors, Student Success Center, including assistance in the main reception area during peak advising times and absence of main receptionist.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary person in the office to assist with student documents in Laserfiche
  • Primary back-up for the receptionist 
  • Assist Student Success Center Director
  • Provide support for various projects for Academic Services
  • Monitor Academic Services e-mail accounts
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position
 

Job Requirements

Required Education:  High School diploma or GED.

  • 12 months office, clerical or administrative support experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) and appropriate vocabulary to obtain and convey information professionally with diplomacy and clarity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and organized, especially with data and student information
  • Ability to maintain and/or establish organized electronic and paper filing systems
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and students; to exercise initiative and accept responsibility; to work proactively under heavy workload with frequent interruptions; and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain a congenial, helpful attitude when faced with difficult situations and to respond with tact and sensitivity in all communications and settings.

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for prolonged periods.  Communicate effectively and listens.  Engage in repetitive motion.  Use of computer and telephone.  Stand, stoop, bend, and reach. Standard office environment.
