This position may be eligible for hybrid/remote work arrangement following the completion of 30 calendar days of employment.

Duties:

  • Supports professional staff and students in assisting and enabling them to use and access the media equipment for the purpose of photography, film, video, animation and digital media projects.
  • Provides video conferencing assistance to faculty, staff and students in academic classrooms and conference rooms.
  • Implements policy and procedure for checking equipment out to professional staff and students.
  • Ensures cleanliness of equipment and facilities. 
  • Responsible for security of the equipment.
  • Maintains media equipment inventory and records. 
  • Maintains an adequate stock of supplies.
  • Supervises the use of the media laboratory, trains students in the proper use and care of equipment, and ensures safety procedures are followed.
  • Maintains media equipment, computer systems, as well as photo, video, animation and digital media editing equipment.
  • Maintains local file systems.
  • Troubleshoots, researches, orders, installs and tests audio-visual and multi-media hardware, Wi-Fi connections, software, lighting, and cameras.
  • Makes minor repairs as needed.
  • Assists professional staff and students in artistic research projects, and operating media equipment.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
 

Job Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 12 months experience with analog/digital video, photo and film input/output equipment

Skills:  

  • Ability to operate multi-media equipment
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing 
  • Basic computer skills 
  • General office skills such as multi-line phone, copying, filing, faxing, and mail 
  • Customer service skills 
  • Ability to train students and staff on the use of the equipment 
  • Ability to make minor repairs to the equipment 

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Communicate effectively, engage in repetitive motion, lift 30 pounds, grasp, move, touch, and see.
  • Environmental: Standard office environment.
