Job Description

A Postdoctoral Assoc. position is currently available at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, within the Center for Craniofacial Regeneration, to study the regulation of dental enamel formation by extracellular matrix proteins. Studies will primarily address the role of amelogenin phosphorylation in guiding the hierarchical formation of the exquisite enamel structure using in vivo and in vitro models. This work will be carried out in the laboratories of Dr. Elia Beniash and Dr. Henry Margolois, and is supported by a multi-PI NIH grant.

  • Minimal education level - PhD

Duties or Responsibilities:

  • Doctoral degree in the STEM fields and prior laboratory experience
    Interest in conducting mechanistic studies in the field of biomineralization.
    Experience in mineralized tissue characterization such as light and electron microscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction are highly desirable.
    Experience working with mouse models is a plus.
