Summary of Job Duties:
Applications are invited for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the broad area of organic chemistry, to start August 14, 2023. This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment. This position is in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas, a Carnegie R1 (Very High Research Activity) campus with an enrollment of approximately 31,000. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a nationally recognized research program and to teach organic chemistry effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The University of Arkansas is making significant research investment in the broadly defined areas of metabolism, neuroscience, materials, food systems, and data science. A $194.7 million grant has created the Institute for Integrative and Innovative Research (I3R): (https://www.uark.edu/research/i3r/index.php). Applicants with research interests in these five areas would be candidates for I3R support. A grant from NIH has recently established the Arkansas Integrative Metabolic Research Center and applicants in this area would also be eligible for support in this center. The University of Arkansas is committed to supporting faculty interested in technology commercialization via mentoring and access to programmatic funding and is a current holder of an NSF ADVANCE Award.
