Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Join our team as a Lead Research Computing Facilitator in the Center for High Throughput Computing (CHTC)! The CHTC is a world leader in developing and supporting tools for scientific distributed computing on a campus, national, and international scale. The successful candidate for this position will work both as a group member and leader of our Research Computing Facilitators team, working with researchers on campus and across the country to find appropriate computationally-based solutions to problems impeding their research, expecting that many will leverage the world-class computing capabilities of CHTC and its partners, including the NSF supported OSG. Facilitators serve as the human interface for researchers leveraging CHTC and OSG computing and data resources by providing consultations and ongoing support, and by driving relevant documentation, training, and outreach efforts. Facilitators also provide feedback on the services and technologies operated by CHTC and the OSG to improve the user experience. Your workplace will be inside the upcoming start-of-the-art Computer, Data & Information Science building to be built in the center of campus. The Center is part of the Department of Computer Sciences, an internationally recognized department, and produces the HTCondor software, collaborates with scientists from a wide spectrum of disciplines, operates a state-of-the-art computing facility with thousands of machines, promotes and supports campus use of high throughput computing technologies, and contributes to a national-scale distributed high throughput computing effort (OSG) that is helping to transform the impact of computing on scientific discovery.
