Job Description

Position Summary:
Position Title: Tenure Track Faculty – Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

Bowling Green State University is searching for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering with a start date August 7, 2023. The individual will teach and develop undergraduate and graduate level courses in the areas of thermal, fluid, and/or manufacturing. The Department is seeking outstanding individuals whose research focus lies at the forefront of fluid or thermal science such as multiscale modeling and simulation, thermal management of electronic components and/or batteries, heat exchangers, clean energy, manufacturing process modeling, etc. Priority will be given to candidates with computational expertise in fluids and/or thermal sciences. The successful candidate will help to continue to develop the curriculum to ABET accreditation standards.

The College of Technology is undergoing a major transformation by creating a School of Engineering to replace the current Department of Engineering Technologies. The School of Engineering will host our current B.S. in Systems Engineering and M.S. in Logistic Systems Engineering, and is scheduled to launch three additional engineering programs in Fall 2023 – Electronics and Computer engineering, Mechanical and Manufacturing engineering, and Robotics engineering.

The curriculum is heavily focused on hands-on education and applied research and mandates cooperative education courses for all students. Current programs are focused on ABET-ETAC accredited engineering technology programs, three of which are being converted to engineering. Additionally, technology programs will also be offered under the School of Engineering.
