This position supports the development and implementation of enterprise systems software at the university and analyzes existing enterprise-wide applications functional specifications and requirements. Participates in the design of new processes and applications from a technology perspective. This position develops robust code from functional specifications and modifies baseline code as per business requirements. Builds integrations between the ERP and internal or external applications, conducts testing and performance tuning as needed. Maintains code modifications in new releases of the ERP application software. Rolls out new application modules to provide enhanced/new functionality. Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues. Supports the development needs for the university’s key business processes and daily operations.

This role follows the SDLC process during software development and is involved in establishing best practices and procedures. Follows documentation, version control and migration standards. Collaborates with teams of business users, analysts, database administrators, systems & network engineers and systems architects. May lead or train other staff associated with enterprise-wide application development. Identifies system inefficiencies and recommends effective solutions. Research and recommends new technologies which are applicable to the GW IT ecosystem.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

GW IT is looking for a full-time candidate to join their Enterprise Applications team. The ideal candidate will enjoy developing technical solutions in a higher education environment and should have the following skills:
Experience supporting, enhancing and upgrading Enterprise Systems like Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Advance or Salesforce CRM.
Understanding of all aspects of the software development life cycle such as requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
Experience working in an agile environment with iterative development methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, etc) and the ability to manage multiple development tasks
Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop technical specifications from functional requirements
Knowledge of System Architecture and Software Engineering principles to ensure consistent implementation of enterprise-level best practices
Strong communication and personal skills to succeed in a team environment

The following technical skills are desired:
Advanced experience with Programming languages such as PL/SQL, Java or Python
Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling (with a preference for Oracle Technologies)
Proficiency in API development RESTful APIs
Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Unix, Windows and Cloud Platforms
Experience with source code and version control tools such as GitLab/GitHub


The following skills are a plus:
Front end development such as Java Script, Angular, CSS, XML, APEX, PHP or Visual Force
Knowledge of integrated development environment such as Eclipse & JDeveloper
